Treatment
for Pitta:
"Pitta is pacified immediately by substances opposite to it’s own qualities."
-Source:
Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana Summary Section 1#60
"Sweet, bitter, astringent and cold measures and application of unction (snehana), purgation (virechana), pasting (lepa), bath, massage (abhyanga), etc. which alleviate pitta."
Benefit of Purgation (Virechana):
Purgation is the best,
because it removes the source of Pitta quite effectively. An analogy: In a wood
stove, when we remove the fire from it’s fire-chamber, the stove surely becomes
cold. Source:
Charaka Samhita, Sutrasthana Summary Section 20#16
Ghee is also a top remedy for Pitta.

Charaka Samhita, Vimanasthana Measurement Section 1#13
Pitta is hot,
sharp, liquid, of fleshy smell, sour and pungent. Because of these qualities,
Pitta has these attributes: Hotness -- intolerant to heat, having hot
face, delicate and fair organs, plenty of moles, freckles, black moles and
pimples, excessive hunger and thirst, early appearance of wrinkles, graying and
falling out of hear hairs, mostly soft, sparse, and brown beard-mustaches.
Sharpness -- sharp prowess, intense fire, taking plenty of food and drink,
lack of endurance, frequently eating liquidity lax and soft joints and muscles,
excess secretion of sweat, urine and feces. Visram -- fleshy smell
excessive fetid smell in axilla, mouth, head and body. Pungency and sourness
-- little semen, little sexual act, and few progeny (compared to Kapha).
Because of the presence of all of these qualities, Pitta persons having
predominance in Pitta are: moderate in strength, life-span, knowledge,
understanding, wealth, means.

Much commentary on these excerpts was written by by an Anonymous Buddhist Monk Redactor (Compiler) of this Online Buddhist Indo-Tibetan Ayurveda - Chinese Healing Encyclopedia Compilation) -- his commentary will be listed in parentheses ( ) intra-linear with the actual fair-use quotation. That is to say such commentary will be ‘intra-linear” meaning in the middle of, in the midst of each line, verse, or paragraph rather than following it or in between each paragraph. This is to assist in understanding jargon and various Sanskrit, Chinese, Tibetan or other technical terms and giving commentary using sister paradigms such as Ayurveda, Tibetan Medicine, other traditions of Chinese Medicine, Taoism, and Buddhism. Additional commentary will be quoted or paraphrased from sagely sources such as Taoist, Vedic and Buddhist sutras, shastras and vinaya and will be usually shown inter-linearly (in between each line, verse slokha or paragraph).

Arya
Bhikshu Shantideva’s Bodhisattvacharyavatara says:
Just as
Manjushri
works
To fulfill the aims of all limited beings
To the far reaches of space in the ten directions,
May my
behavior become just like that.
For as
long as space remains,
And for as
long as wandering beings remain,
May
I too remain for that
long,
Dispelling the sufferings of wandering
beings.
(Like
Ananda says in the Shurangama Sutra introduction to the Shurangama
Mantra,
"And even could the nature of
shunyata melt away, my vajra-like
Supreme Resolve would still remain unmoved.)
Whatever sufferings wandering beings might have,
May all of them
ripen on me,
And through the
Bodhisattva
assembly,
May wandering beings enjoy happiness.
May the
teachings,
the sole medicine for the sufferings of wandering beings
And the
source of all happiness,
Continue to endure for a very
long time,
With
material support and shows of
respect.
